Injector Control Unit

The ICU (Injector Control Unit) is able to drive up to 18 electronic injectors for internal combustion engines. It can provide up to 8 injections per injector and per revolution. It generates TTL pulses to drive the injectors. The power supply is provided by the Injector power Drivers installed in 8252 or 8319 racks. Typical use The ICU system generates logical signals to drive up to 6 injectors (standard) or up to 18 injectors (optional). In order to transform logical signals into power signals, it has to be linked with one or more Injector power Driver integrated in racks (e.g. EFS 8252 or 8119). In addition to the integration of Injector power Driver, the 8319 module provides ?12 or 24 voltage (manually programmable) battery simulator. The ICU drives up to 6 injectors as standard with an angular resolution of 0,1° (given by an encoder fixed on the camshaft) or a temporal resolution of 1 µs. It drives up to 8 injections per injector and per camshaft revolution. System description The ICU comes in 19", 3U format. This standard format enables it to be fitted easily into standard racks. The ICU includes : Input signals : 1/rev camshaft, N/rev input (where N represents from 120 up to 3600 pulses per revolution modulo 120 allowing cam synchronization) These two signals give the angular position in order to synchronize the start of each injection. Ouput signals : "INJ" output for each injector. The ICU can be set up via an RS-232 communication link. Software is provided with the device. This software enables the user to regulate: the number of used injectors, the angle or time for the start of each injection. Application example Simulation of the engine case for test injections.
